An ancient tradition has been continued till today by using some specific method to remember the period of ancient kings. A unique glass art to make bottles or burner used by Egyptian Royals. Oil burner is one of them popular innovation by ancient Egyptians.
Process of making oil burner :
First, hollow glass pipes & solid glass rods are heated and melted using a number of traditional tools while the glass is constantly rotated as the artist blows air through it quickly and precisely to form an exact shape. Afterwards, another craftsman with very different handicraft skill takes over the bottle in order to engrave the glass shaped with designs. Extra care is required in cutting into the strong and delicate glass.
Another craftsman apply colouring to the product. All transparent items will be turned on a rotating wheel to distribute the colours smoothly and evenly without leaving marks or uneven streaks of colour to give a beautiful effects on item. Afterwards gold will be applied as a finishing touch which is 10% concentrate liquid gold.
After the colouring and hand painting process is completed, the item will be placed into a furnace with a temperature near 480°C and 520°C to fix the colour and gold on the glass so that it is permanent. These beautiful objects come in a variety of shapes, colours, and sizes, from the very small to extra-large.
